1. HELP WITH CREATING A USERNAME AND LOGIN FOR TREEPARTY.COM:

 

a. Go to www.TreeParty.com.

b. Click on "Create Your Free Account".

c. Create a Username. (PLEASE NOTE OTHERS WILL BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR USER NAME.)

d. Enter your e-mail address.

e. Fill out the Optional Personal Information. This imformation will be viewable by other members of the site.

f. Click the "Create New Account" Button.

g. You will now enter the site.

h. Please note that a red star is a required box that must be filled out.

*Please Note: In order to browse and post events at www.TreeParty.com, you must first become a User. By signing up for our Newsletter, you are simply requesting to be added to our email-list, and the Newsletter is somewhat separate from the site. **Some members of our mailing list have attempted to join our website by clicking the "joining our mailing list" link in the Newsletter-- Anyone who did this should be aware that they did not sign up for TreeParty.com. If this relates to you, please return to www.TreeParty.com and become a User of our site. We apologize for any confusion, and appreciate all of the wonderful feedback we have received pertaining to this issue. ***(Treeparty.com is still in beta, and we are working with our Webmaster to fix all glitches)

 

2. HELP WITH SUBSCRIBING TO OUR NEWSLETTER:

 

a. Visit the homepage of TreeParty.com (you must have a username and password enter our site) and enter your email address in the "Sign Up For Our Newsletter" section.

 

3. HELP WITH LOGIN FOR RETURNING USERS:

 

a. Remember & enter, your "Username" exactly as it is in the e-mail that you received confirming that you signed up.

b. Remember & enter your "Password" exactly as it is in the e-mail that you received confirming that you signed up

c. If you have forgotten your password, click "Forgot Your Password?" and follow the instructions on the screen.

 

4. HOW TO ADD A YOUTUBE VIDEO

 

a. Go to www.youtube.com and search for your favorite video. Click on it to open it up. To the right of the video player there will be a gray box. A the bottom of the gray box there will be a text field that says "Embed." Copy all the text in field.

b. Go to TreeParty.com and create a new event by going to the "Events" menu and select "Post Event". Create a title, time, location, and category for your event, and fill out all other required information for your event.

c. Paste the YouTube embedded code (from step a) directly into the box titled "Describe Your Event".

 

5. HOW TO ADD A MAP

Adding a map: When you create an event and you enter in the location information, the system will automatically add a link to google maps and yahoo maps for you. If you would like to add another map on the event page for some other reason, you may do so by following these instructions:

a. Go to maps.google.com and search for the address. On the top right corner of the map, find and click on "Link". There will be a text field that says "Paste HTML to Embed in Website." Copy this HTML.

b. Go to TreeParty.com and create a new event by going to the "Events"  menu and select "Post Event". Fill out all the required information.

c. Paste the Google map embedded code (from step a) directly into the box titled "Describe your event".

 

6. HOW TO PRIVATELY INVITE OTHER SITE USERS TO EVENTS

 

a. Go to the "My Account" menu and select "My Messages".

b. Select the "Write New Message" tab. Enter in your friends TreeParty usernames in the "To" field. In the body, describe your private event or after-party

c. Click the send button

 

7. HOW TO CONTACT ANOTHER SITE USERS PRIVATELY

 

a. Go to the My Account menu (top left) and select "My Messages".

b. Click on the "Write New Nessage" tab.

c. Enter in your friends TreeParty usernames in the "To" field.

d. Create a "Subject" for your message.

e. Write a personalized message in the box provided.

 

8. INFORMATION ON POSTING EVENTS

 

Now you can post your own events!

 

a. Select "Event", and click on "Post Event". Fill out the required fields in the event posting form, and remember to click the "Save" button at the bottom of page, to submit your event. If you have submitted your event correctly, there will be a message on the screen that says that your event has been submitted for moderation.

 

b. Please note that when entering your phone number in the "phone number" field, that this information will remain private. It is for administrative purposes only. If you would like the site users to see your phone number, please paste it in the "Describe Your Event" field. Also include your NAME, EVENT ADDRESS, and YOUR EMAIL / PHONE NUMBER. You can also embed a YouTube video or map by copying and pasting HTML. For more information, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the help link on the right. *Note: When submitting events with 48 hours notice prior to the event, you can be assured that the event will be posted in time for the event to be viewed. You MAY submit an event within the 48 hours time buffer, but understand that TreeParty.com cannot ensure that the event will be posted with sufficient viewing time.

 

c. If you have an ongoing event, the end time will be a required field even though you may not have an end date. If you do have an ongoing event with an end date, please add it. If you have an on-going event without an end date please create an imaginary date that is far in advance, i.e. January 1st, 2020.

 

d. If you would like your event to have a clickable link to your website, paste the your site URL into the "Describe your event" field.

 

e. If you have an INTERNET EVENT with no address, place the URL address in all of the required address fields and select other as your event location.

 

f. If your event has been approved/posted by the site administrator, then you may edit it on your own by going to your event on the community calendar, then click on "View Event Details". Then click on the "Edit" tab at top page to edit the details.
